Who is Jesus?
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Name above every other name (Philippians 2:9), the King of Heaven and Earth (Matthew 28:18), the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and the One Most High (Psalm 91:1), the Living Word that has stood the test of time (John 1:1-18). To say that Jesus is just one thing is unrealistic; that's why He calls Himself, "I Am" (John 8:58). We will never know all there is to know about who Jesus is. He is one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man. He is Immanuel, which means "God with us". He is the Son of God, the incarnation, God in the flesh.
Why did Jesus come to earth?
Romans 3:23 tells us, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." When God created the world, there was perfect communion between Him and His creation. But sin created a separation between God and man. Jesus came to Earth to bear the sins of the world and carry the brokenness of mankind. Jesus bridged the gap between a sinful humanity and a Holy God. He lived a totally sinless life, so that His death on a cross, burial, and resurrection could pay for our sin once and for all.
Why did Jesus do this? He is perfect love. Jesus loves us unconditionally, so much that He willingly gave His life on a cross (John 15:13). Because of His sacrifice, we have access to Heaven through salvation, a relationship with Jesus. All that declare “Jesus is Lord,” shall be saved. Harry Transide said, “Christ is a substitute for everything, but nothing is a substitute for Christ.”
John 3:16 (MSG)- This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
How do i know Jesus loves me?
Jesus doesn’t need you to "clean up" in order to start a relationship with Him. Jesus dives into our mess and rescues us. He pulls us out of the muck and sets our feet upon solid ground. He cleans us off and calls us "child of God". There is no mess our God isn’t willing to jump into to save us. He isn’t asking you to clean yourself up. He is just asking you if you will let Him clean you up. You haven’t be disqualified from the love of Christ, no matter what you've done. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Turn towards God’s love and let Him wash you. Jesus loves you.
John 8:2-11 (MSG) Jesus went across to Mount Olives, but he was soon back in the Temple again. Swarms of people came to him. He sat down and taught them. The religion scholars and Pharisees led in a woman who had been caught in an act of adultery. They stood her in plain sight of everyone and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught red-handed in the act of adultery. Moses, in the Law, gives orders to stone such persons. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something incriminating so they could bring charges against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the dirt. They kept at him, badgering him. He straightened up and said, “The sinless one among you, go first: Throw the stone.” Bending down again, he wrote some more in the dirt. Hearing that, they walked away, one after another, beginning with the oldest. The woman was left alone. Jesus stood up and spoke to her. “Woman, where are they? Does no one condemn you?” “No one, Master.” “Neither do I,” said Jesus. “Go on your way. From now on, don’t sin.”
How Can I have a relationship with jesus?
Salvation is God’s gift to us and we are His children. He desires for all of us to stand in Heaven with Him and in His loving Presence now and forever. If you are not sure that you are saved by the gracious sacrifice of Jesus and you want to know that your name is written in the Book of Life, you can make that decision right now by praying a prayer of salvation.
Dear Jesus, I surrender my life to you right now. I submit my plans to follow your will for my life. Forgive me of the sins I have committed and wash me clean. I recognize I am saved by your death, burial, and resurrection. I declare that Jesus is my Lord and I know that Christ lives within me. I present myself as the image of Christ for the world to see. Amen.
