“The Promise of Christmas” is taking the place of Kingdom’s Live Nativity this year. After storms destroyed a large portion of our Nativity set last year, we needed some time to rebuild. The Gospel story will still be shared, just in a new, theatrical way!

This show follows a teenage girl named Emma, reminiscing with her dad about all of her favorite family Christmas stories and memories, eventually leading to her learning all about the reason we celebrate Christmas. Her imagination takes her to what it might have been like on the very day that Jesus was born, all the way through the reason why He came in the first place. This show is full of laughter, depth, and plenty of heart.

“The Promise of Christmas” is written and performed by the Kingdom: A Community Church congregation with a little help from others in the community.

All ticket revenue will go toward covering the cost of the production, from theatre rental to set construction to food for our cast and crew. Thank you for supporting this theatrical demonstration of the Gospel!

Parking lots and street parking in Downtown Morgantown are all free on Sundays, so if you are comfortable with the short walk to the theatre, you are welcome to utilize any parking space available. We will also have a shuttle service from the Fred L. Jenkins and Hastings funeral home parking lots, so if you would prefer to be shuttled to the theatre, please park in one of those two lots and a church van will transport you to The Met. Please note that our vans are not wheelchair accessible.

Absolutely! This is a family-friendly show and children are more than welcome to attend.

Tickets are all general admission, so if you’d like a seat in a particular area of the theatre, we recommend arriving early. Doors will open 1 hour prior to showtime.

We don’t want inability to pay to prevent anyone from hearing the Gospel. If ticket cost is an issue for you, contact the church office at (304) 292-3168 to reserve your ticket.

Due to the high administrative demand of keeping track of ticket sales, refunds will not be available. All ticket sales are final.

Due to copyright laws we are unable to live-stream “The Promise of Christmas.”
